I’m really proud of it.

Performing three selections from Franz Schubert’s Die Winterreise song cycle, as well as an original song with Dr. Bill Schimmel (Tom Waits, Tango Project). Also performing: Dr. Hugo Goldenzweig, Corn Mo, Dr. Denise Koncelik, Dr. Robert Young McMahan, Emanuel Borowsky, and Cecylia Barczyk. Admission is free.

Our special guests for this show are Hovey Burgess and Lil’ Miss Lixx.
Hovey is a circus performer, circus historian and avid fan of the hypercarnivorous maritime animal known as the polar bear. He’s a retired teacher of circus arts, having taught at NYU since 1966 with a bevy of successful graduates who studied the Hovey Burgess Pedogogy. He was the choreographer of the movie Popeye, starring Robin Williams, one of his former pupils.

When I was with The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, we did a winter cabaret at The Palace of Variety. He was at every show. He is such a habitué of The Slipper Room that he has a reserved seat at the front table, stage left. There is much more about this legend . . .
Lil’ Miss Lixx is a burlesque performer who I met while performing with The Pontani Sisters. She’s also in the band The Stilette Hoes.
The two have teamed up and will perform their newest act, The Polar Bare.
