One of my favorite books is Paul Collins’ Banvard’s Folly: Thirteen Tales of People Who Didn’t Change the World. This song is based on his story about Delia Bacon.  I recommend the book.

A staged reading of a new musical being developed by the Huntington Theater, about the legendary mountain man and bear tamer Grizzly Adams, tracing his path to stardom from a dirty basement in San Francisco to the streets of the Lower East Side, where he found near-gainful employment with PT Barnum before dying from head injuries sustained in service to his art.
