I had an great time at the symposium. I met some excellent folks and heard some excellent folks. Jim Jacobmeyer is one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met. He’s a former art teacher who volunteers his time to teaching art to at-risk kids while putting on festivals that benefit the city of Cedar Rapids and accordionists. If people bought him beer based on his goodness, he would be drunk every day.
I’ve posted photos on my facebook page. I’ve also posted videos on my tour diary channel. Here’s one of Ron Borelli:

Billy Campion is wonderful man. He plays in the bands Vic Thrill and The Bogmen. He’s helped out a lot of fellow musicians over the years. He recently hurt his back and is now having trouble financially. There’s a benefit for him on Friday, September 16 at Big Sky Works in Brooklyn. I sometimes participate in a show called The Bushwick Book Club. We read a book and then write a song about it. I missed last month’s show which was based on the book A Game of Thrones. I enjoyed it so much that I went ahead and wrote one. If you want to download it, go here: Buy Now
